I spent this past blizzard weekend in NYC with a few #teamflower friends attending The Little Flower School's Winter Citrus Class at Sky Gallery in Brooklyn. We spent the weekend talking shop, visiting the flower wholesale district (Dutch Flower Line was my favorite), and wrapped up with attending a group class taught by Sarah and Nicolette.
It was a weekend of firsts - my first New York blizzard, my first class with Little Flower School Brooklyn, and my first stay at the painfully hip ACE Hotel. I highly recommend all of these things - although the New York snow experience is probably best suited to able-bodied acrobats with a stride long enough to step over the curbs filled with bottomless slush.
I met up with a dear friend Sunday evening, who recently has (in my opinion) achieved all of his wildest career dreams. I asked, "well, you've literally achieved all your dreams... now what?"
He said one of his colleagues advised that maybe there doesn't need to be a new dream right away. Maybe you can just be content and enjoy your accomplishment for a while.
My long-time dream of attending a Little Flower School class has been realized, so I think I'll allow myself to be content... for now.
I have to say a huge thank you to Kelly Perry for organizing this trip. She continues to forge flower friendships wherever she goes.
