Salubria in Stevensburg, Virginia is an 18th century treasure. Built prior to the Revolutionary War, I can only imagine the stories the walls in this Georgian-style manor house could tell. Salubria is Latin for healthful - what a fitting name for a home that has stood tall and strong for over 250 years.
Maybe it was the weather that day - overcast and with biting early spring winds - that contributed to the heavy feeling in Salubria. There is a moody weight that hangs over that place. I don't want to use the word "haunted"... but you know... there was a vibe...
I wanted the florals to be natural and feel native to the space. Foraged greens and dogwood branches from Salubria's own garden comprised the fireplace installation. Neutral spring blooms of spirea, hellebores, clematis, and ranunculus composed the bouquet and small centerpiece. Enjoy these beautiful film photographs from Serena and absolutely perfect video from Josh.
