The flowers were textural, feminine, seasonal, and delicate; a perfect pairing to an exquisite brunch spread created by the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City chefs. The best botanicals of early summer were used throughout the decor, including garden roses, columbine, ranunculus, sweet peas, astilbe, peonies, and spring greens and vines.
A delicate, miniature painting by Bridie Coombes was all it took to inspire this floral color palette of soft sage, warm ivory, and dusty muted peach and pink. The florals took on a sculptural quality through the support of sturdy spring dogwood branches, softened by floaty butterfly ranunculus, spirea, astrantia, and sweet peas. Oversized ranunculus along with clematis and parrot tulips served as grounding focal points among the frills.

Early Mountain Vineyard has a beautifully relaxed yet elegant aesthetic, and we brought in natural greens, earthy grasses and dried flower pods along with ivory and soft terra cotta hues to work with the colors and materials in the space. I think the most important thing to consider when choosing your wedding flowers is your venue's aesthetic. Choosing a palette and materials that complement and enhance the space creates greater impact, therefore requiring fewer decorative elements. Less is more after all (unless you have an incredible oversized mantel like Early Mountain's, in which case more is more!)
