The flowers were textural, feminine, seasonal, and delicate; a perfect pairing to an exquisite brunch spread created by the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City chefs. The best botanicals of early summer were used throughout the decor, including garden roses, columbine, ranunculus, sweet peas, astilbe, peonies, and spring greens and vines.
One of my favorite color palettes from 2015 was this purple dream of a summer wedding at Josephine Butler Parks Center. The Lavande rose starred as the perfect muted lavender base tone, with ranunculus and viburnum berries providing the deeper realm of purple, accented with trailing clematis, salvia, sedum, veronica, spray roses, and purple kale. Berry baskets full of ripe summer blackberries marked the table numbers against crisp, white linens. The overall mood reflected an easy, elegant, summer garden - perfect for a Saturday brunch in the city.
